Your Home Is A Privilege
Your Home is a Privilege – Setting Boundaries for Your Puppy
In this video, we’ll discuss a key concept that helps set your puppy up for success—understanding that your home is a privilege, not a free-for-all. If you bring your puppy home and immediately give them full access to every room, it becomes much harder to break bad habits like accidents, chewing, and unwanted behavior weeks later.
Instead, start by limiting their space and gradually expanding their access as they demonstrate good behavior. Here’s how to do it:
• Designate a Small Area – Choose a section of your home, like the kitchen, where accidents are easier to clean.
• Use a Puppy Pen or Crate – Set up a retractable wire pen for when your puppy is unsupervised to prevent destructive habits.
• Supervised vs. Unsupervised Time – Allow freedom only when you can watch them, then gradually increase their space as they learn proper behavior.
By following this structured approach, your puppy will earn access to new areas while building good habits. If you want access to the full course, click here.
